Multichoice Apostille assists with authenticating academic records and transcripts from any U.S. school, college, or university.

If you plan to study or work abroad and have completed high school, trade school, college, or university in the United States, the country where you are going to may require that your US-issued academic credentials get authenticated by the school Registrar before the apostille is processed. If you need transcripts, they should be easily available from the school you attended. First, you need to contact the Registrar’s office of your school and let them know that you need an original or color copy of your school transcript to be signed and notarized. Usually, the school will write a short letter, on school letterhead, stating that attached are the official school transcripts for this student. The letter is then signed by a school official in the presence of a notary public. Another common method is to have a school official sign the actual transcript in front of a notary public. If your school does not have a notary public on staff, you need to bring a mobile notary public who will meet with the school official. Make sure you use an experienced public notary who knows to apply proper notarial laws of his/her State for the State office to authenticate your transcript and include his/her signature, seal, and the exact date of notarization as required by statute. Most notaries have no experience in authenticating school transcripts or diplomas for use abroad, so it’s best to trust the apostille process to professionals like Multichoice Apostille.

Once you obtain a copy of the certified transcript, mail it to our office together with other required forms and we will apply for the apostille on your academic records.

Remember that an apostille can only be issued on school transcripts being used in the country – a member of the Hague Apostille Convention. If you are going to a non-member country of the Hague Apostille Treaty, your school transcripts need to go through a different process of authentication called a certificate of authentication – a form of legalization through the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., and legalization through the Embassy / Consulate office.

Obtaining an apostille on school transcripts is a complex process and is best to be handled by professionals only. Remember that trusting your important documents to incompetent people unfamiliar with the specifics of each country, may lead you to unplanned expenses, and delays of your important business by weeks, or even months. Complex matters must be handled by experts, and that’s why we recommend that you should let Multichoice Apostille take care of obtaining your school transcripts apostille.

You should start by contacting the Registrar office of your school and request a certified copy of your academic records. A certified copy must be notarized, so your next step would be finding a notary public to notarize your document. Some schools have a notary in the house, if your school does not have one, you need to bring a mobile notary public who will meet with the Registrar.
