Multichoice Apostille can procure Apostilles on background checks issued by all 50 U.S. States and the District of Columbia. Background checks may be obtained from the city, county, state, or federal authorities. Usually, a country requesting a background check specifies what type of background check they will need from you.
If you need the FBI Background Check, please contact the FBI directly or follow instructions on their website. As soon as you receive your FBI background check document, send it to our office for an apostille. FBI Background Checks are available with rush processing (one business week). Standard processing may take up to 8 weeks.
Many countries require that background checks are issued from local police and sheriff’s departments AND the Department of Justice (DOJ). If only a local police or sheriff’s department background check is sufficient, you can have the sheriff’s office prepare a letter. The officer’s or deputy’s signature on your police check must be notarized by a local Notary Public. You can then mail a notarized background check to our office for apostille processing.
If a country you are going to requests a background check done by the Department of Justice, you should contact the DOJ in your state to find out their procedures for issuing the DOJ check. If you already arrived in your destination country, you need to contact the local U.S. Embassy or Consulate for assistance with a background check from the United States. You can submit your fingerprints in the country of your destination and complete any official forms needed to obtain your background check from the United States.
An apostille on FBI Background Check is issued for use in countries - members of the Hague Apostille Convention. If you were asked for an FBI Background Check by a non-member country of the Hague Apostille Treaty, you will need to go through a different legalization process for an FBI Background Check - a special authentication through the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., and legalization through the Embassy / Consulate office.
Obtaining an Apostilled Background Check is a complex process and should always be handled by professionals only. Remember that trusting your important documents to incompetent persons who are unfamiliar with the specifics of each country, may lead you to lost money, and delays of your important business by weeks, or even months. Complicated matters must be handled by experts, and that’s why we recommend that you should let Multichoice Apostille take care of obtaining a Background Check Apostille.
